The Woods Brown Mansion is a partner with the Historic Building Preservation Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded in 2025. The Historic Building Preservation Foundation (HBPF) aims to preserve, restore, and promote historic buildings. More than this, the HBPF aspires to educate the community about the unique value that historic buildings bring to any area. Finally, it also strives to inspire people to become involved in history through educational tours, lectures, and other special events. mission and vision
Our foundation has three main goals. First, the HBPF strives to facilitate the integration of the community with historic buildings through charitable events, gatherings, tours and other functions. Second, we hope to educate the public and encourage the appreciation of historic architecture and their corresponding historic periods. Finally, it will preserve, and restore as needed, the integrity of the historic buildings affiliated with or owned by the foundation. This will be done under the direction of the Board of Trustees and the execution of our Executive Director.
The goals of the HBPF extend beyond the properties owned by the foundation. At the most basic level, the foundation hopes to encourage the community to preserve and protect the historic value of the countless beautiful homes in our town and beyond. What is the connection between the Woods Brown Mansion
and the Historic Building Preservation Foundation?
The founders of the Historic Building Preservation Foundation are the same couple who did the complete restoration of the Woods Brown Mansion - Joel and Barb Brown. The Mansion is closely affiliated with the Foundation for several reasons. The Foundation's office is located in the Mansion. Our staff offers tours of the Woods Brown Mansion. Most of the events hosted in the Mansion are the direct effort of the Historic Building Preservation Foundation. Without the vision of the Brown's the Foundation would not be possible.
